Feds opening Canada to more foreign grandparents, parents

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney revealed the new plan Friday to let 10,000 more parents and grandparents into the country each year - to a total of 25,000 - by way of a new multiple-entry 10-year "super visa" that will permit stays of up to two years at a time. Currently, of about 40,000 parents and grandparents who apply to visit their children and grandchildren in Canada each year, about 17,000 get in.
