A Montreal man says a mistake by Immigration Canada cost him and his wife thousands of dollars and unbearable stress. Jonathan Muller said his Colombian wife, Sandra Camargo, got a temporary visa last January and her application for permanent residency in Canada was accepted in November. But the immigration acceptance papers only arrived on Jan. 5, two days before Camargo's visa was set to expire. If Camargo's visa expired before she used the residency papers to come to Canada, she would have had to start the application process from scratch.
