Canada might have to fight to attract new immigrants

But we need to do a better job of recognizing foreign credentials first

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Immigration is getting a lot of the credit for keeping Vancouver's economy relatively strong through the recession and for a healthy forecast through the next couple of years.

But Mario Lefebvre with the Conference Board of Canada says we can't take immigration for granted. "These countries are developing rapidly and people have less and less reason to leave them, so you could wind up in a situation where you have more and more countries battling for immigrants."
