So, most Canadians, including many who are new to this country, are surely taken aback and perplexed by the alleged honour killing of Zainab Shafia, a tragic story unfolding in a Kingston courtroom.

Who did what is a matter for the courts, but we do know that in 2009 the bodies of Zainab, her sisters Geeti and Sahar and that of Rona Amir Mohammad were found in a car in the Rideau Canal.
